Templesmith's Wolverine

Comic artist Ben Templesmith recently offered a sample of his line art for people to have a go at colouring. This is my attempt (and not bad for a first try if I do say so myself).

Hello Cthulhu

One night, I posted on Twitter a rough sketch of a Cthulhu head with long eyelashes and a pink bow. Someone made the joke of Hello Cthulhu which inspired me to do this.

This was completed in Adobe Illustrator CS4 using a Wacom Graphire 4.

Scarfie

This is a little character I did for @missannajane.  This was my first real effort using Adobe Illustrator and, considering I used a mouse, I am pleased with the outcome.

My process for this was a pencil sketch, which I then inked with a fine line marker. I imported it into my computer by taking a high megapixel photo (as I don't have a scanner). Once there, I isolated the line art in Photoshop then copied the image across to Illustrator. I finished it off by smoothing out lines and adding colour.

wallfarmers(dot)ca

wallfarmers(dot)ca is a Canadian website featuring emerging, mid-career, and established artists who understand the meaning of urban/contemporary/real art in all aspects while maintaining their underground edge.  As there are many artists pushing forward through graffiti, skate art, comics, and pop culture, wallfarmers(dot)ca aim to get them all in one place like some video/paint brush/camera/spray-can wet dream.

Recently, to celebrate the 3000th tweet through their Twitter presence, they had a quick competition asking followers to send in their most detailed stick-person drawing.  I submitted a quick five-minute sketch of a stick figure riding a bicycle, and was judged the winner.  About a week later, I received the awesome sticker pack pictured below as my prize.

Please check out wallfarmers(dot)ca - they feature some cool art and are themselves cool people.
